Acknowledgement to Country
I would like to acknowledge the Gubbi Gubbi people, the traditional owners of the land where I live and work. I wish to pay my respects to elders’ past, and to our present, emerging and future leaders. May we acknowledge the truths and wrongs of the past, celebrate the successes and come together in harmony to walk the path together on what always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
NEW 2026 updates
Announcement for my art lovers!
** No longer taking bookings for 2026!**
I have had a delayed start to the year due to significant health issues & I also have 2 solo exhibitions to prepare for, which will require a lot of work and mind space. I am no longer taking bookings for 2026, but my books are open for 2027!
Please also note, that significant dates (such as NAIDOC week) can book out up to a year in advance, so please send through enquiries with ample notice!
Thank you for understanding! As an artist, I am so thankful to work with you all & the opportunities you give me.
Have a great day,
Wendy
My artwork is everywhere!
You will find my work overseas and around Australia, on walls as originals or fine art reproductions. You will also see my designs on clothing ranges, commissions for Indigenous jerseys, as well as my own fabric range. My handcrafted crosses can be found in schools, homes and churches. You will also find my work on several people in the form of tattoos!
Testimonials
Kind words that people have said about my paintings, artist-in-residence programs and corporate art workshops.
“Wendy provides a lovely age-appropriate, informative and hands on session for kindergarten children. She shares her family stories to help children build understanding before creating artworks together. Thankyou Wendy! We would love to lock you in for next year too.”
“We made people by drawing a U shape first then painted inside. I used all the colours. Wendy is an art girl and her grandfather paints on pots.”
“They did pottery and then they painted them. Her uncle taught her. They also caught little crabs and eated them on the fire.”
“I bought a lovely painting from Wendy even before she became Wensart and proudly display it in my home. It is a beautiful piece that always becomes the centre of conversations at parties and just casual get togethers. Everything about her work is so meticulous and always has a story of sorts behind it! I highly recommend her and her work if you are looking for art that is not only beautiful but has special meaning.”
“The artwork and its story reflect our vision, mission and culture, so congratulations to Mike Hart and Wendy Rix for your work in pulling this together!”
“I have purchased several pieces of art from Wendy over the years (some as gifts and some for myself) and also had a wonderful opportunity to participate in a workshop. Wendy Rix is very professional to deal with and very clearly passionate about creating her artwork”.
“Such incredibly detailed paintings and amazing colour connections. Awesome work and for those who miss out on grabbing a much coveted original, the reproduction canvases are brilliant!”
“Wendy so skilfully produces such rich and colourful artworks that fabulously celebrates her spirituality and culture. There is an interesting and thoughtful story in them all. I’m so thankful for the positive and beautiful way she is sharing her Aboriginal heritage with us all so that we can appreciate and celebrate it too.”
“Wendy supported my class to create their vision and was able to produce the most beautiful piece of art working collaboratively with students.”
“Wendy was engaging, informative, warm and provided an educational artist experience the students thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from. Thank you Wendy. We would love to have you back very soon.”

“Rick and I are so happy with the Messenger painting. It speaks to both of our hearts regarding my Dad who left a few feathers for us over the years. We know it was a beautiful painting but we were still bowled over at just how stunning!! I wanted to let you know that you have really spoken to our souls!! You are an amazing conduit for God’s glory indeed.”
“Wendy came to spend the day with our year 6 students to share her perspective and speak to our students about how expressing her story, faith and culture through painting and creativity, impacts her wellbeing. Wendy shared artworks and examples of her childhood memories and the impact that her elders have had on her life and wellbeing. Each student then had an opportunity to create their own painting in response, inspired by Wendy’s story. Thanks Wendy!”
